This year we will be mixing it up a little bit with paddling at the Jordanelle Reservoir most of the time, but with paddling at other reservoirs some of the time. Since you will need to bring your own equipment, you will are required by the State of Utah to take this short 2024 Mussel-Aware Boater Program course to participate. Our meet time typically be 8:30am sharp so that we can arrive at the reservoir between 9 and 9:30am.
SIGN-UP PROCEDURES:
The first time you paddle with us this season at any reservoir (one-time only for the summer): You must sign the Park City Mountain Sports Club waiver form which you can print and bring with you. You can alternatively sign a supplied printed waiver at the event.
Before you paddle with us this season at the Jordanelle Reservoir (one-time only for the Summer): If you are renting a kayak or stand-up paddle board, you must fill out the Jordanelle Rentals’ online waiver form.
Every time you paddle with us this season at the Jordanelle Reservoir and want to rent equipment: Before you arrive you need to order your equipment from Jordanelle Rentals online. You are encouraged to make your reservation by Tuesday evening of the week of the event. Jordanelle Rentals has lots of equipment but it is available on a first-come, first-served basis. We highly recommend using our discount rental code which saves you 35%: PCMTN. Additionally, we encourage you to bring a little cash ($3-5) to add to the tip jar. As with most equipment rentals, you are personally responsible if any of the rental equipment is damaged or lost.
Every time you paddle with us this season at any location: Email the activity coordinators (details at the bottom of this email) and let them know that you will be attending and how many people in your group. Please do this no later than Tuesday evening of the week of the event.

- ADDITIONAL FEES TO ENTER STATE PARKS: All of the reservoirs are state parks. You will be required to pay for a day pass or an annual pass. You can purchase online or at the park entrance. The Jordanelle Reservoir day pass is $20 per vehicle. For obvious reasons you may want to consider carpooling with someone with an annual pass if you don’t have one of your own. Allow extra time for park entry if you need to purchase a pass.
- WATER TEMPERATURE: Early in the season the water can be very cold, 60 degrees or less. Therefore, you should be comfortable being able to get back onto your stand-up paddleboard or kayak if you fall into water at these temperatures.
- SIGNING IN AND OUT: We will have a sign in and sign out sheet at the start location so that we ensure everyone makes it back. Please make sure to sign out when you return, so we don’t leave anyone stranded on the reservoir.
- DIRECTIONS TO JORDANELLE:Take Hwy 40 to exit 8. Turn toward reservoir. Enter park (1/2 mile), then follow signs to the Marina or Beach House or ask the gate attendant.
- ESSENTIALS FOR PADDLING ACTIVITIES:
1) Safety – Personal Flotation Device (PFD -required to be worn), swimming skills. These are included with rentals.
2) Fluids – water or sports drink to cover time on water
3) Food – Snacks, trail mix, fruit or energy bars
4) Clothes – paddling shoes or sandals (or you can go barefoot), waterproof jacket, shirt or wind breaker, hat, sailing or biking gloves (optional), wet suit (optional) for SUP activity
5) Personal – sunglasses w/safety strap, sunscreen, insect spray, health insurance card, towel, lip protector, extra dry clothes
6) Equipment – cell phone in waterproof bag, first aid kit
